FROM THE PREFACE OF THE EXHIBITION

"When we talk about the human body, there is an unquestionable fascination with it throughout the history of art, and we can include the work of Antonio Kutleša in this continuity. Noticing the increasingly intense interventions that expose the human body in order to maximize its strength and the possibility of adaptation to new conditions, the artist problematizes the limits of such perfection by assembling a new body using three-dimensional printing technologies.
The artist uses this work to explore the achievements of a utopian vision of the technological superstructure of the human body in order for it to respond to tasks in both the real and virtual spheres. He creates a kind of visual oxymoron to emphasize the antithetical positions of the organic and the mechanical, in which humanoid shapes created by collage of various animal forms are joined by modern means of surveillance (cameras) that appropriate the position of the eyes in the artist's modular human body. The starting point is the graphics transformed into a series of objects that form a modular body in human size, created with the help of a three-dimensional printing device. By entering the graphic record into the software, the artist is enabled to rotate and perceive the former two-dimensional shape from multiple perspectives, emancipating new views."
