Set design, costume design and visual identity of the opera
MORE ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:
Through sketches, costumes, films, parts of scenography and publications, the exhibition represents part of the creative process of creating the scenography and costume design, and the visual identity of the opera-fable by Igor Kuljerić called Animal Farm, based on the famous novel of the same name by the British writer George Orwell.
The opera was performed on November 27 and 28, 2021 at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Academy of Music. The authors of the set and costume design are students of the Academy of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Textile Technology of the University of Zagreb.
The opera Animal Farm was performed by soloists, the choir and the orchestra of the Academy of Music under the direction of Mladen Tarbuk. The director of the opera is Krešimir Dolenčić, and the co-director is Kristina Grubiša (Academy of Dramatic Arts). More than 180 music students participated in the project with the support of almost a hundred students of the Academy of Dramatic Art, the Academy of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Textile Technology. This exceptional project is a continuation of the long-standing tradition of connecting students of the University of Zagreb through opera collaborations.
