About "SNOVOCARRIER"

“.. The narrator of this story, who has always wanted to be (and always has been) a dream-bearer, grows from page to page and takes on almost cosmic dimensions; for he is the one who delivered dreams to the inhabitants of ancient Mesopotamia thousands of years ago – as well as to the thieves from the neighborhood last week. This dreambrer is not flawless, he is overloaded with work, so "mistakes happen" to him, and sometimes in a hurry he brings a truly terrifying dream. But some dreams from his luggage are extraordinary: the number zero dreamed by a member of the Maya people and the recipe for primeval ice cream that appeared in a chef's dream; some strange signs from which a letter will emerge, but also the tender love of a young girl... However, it seems that it is not the dreamer who is responsible for dreams, but the dreamers themselves, who in turn "dream beyond any rule".

ABOUT THE AUTHOR OF THE PICTURE BOOK

Igor Rajki is the author of short stories, novels and dramatic texts, as well as books for children and young people. He has received several literary awards for his works, including the first prize at the Ogulin Fairy Tale Festival for the dramatic text for children "The Wizard" in 2010 and the Grigor Vitez Award for the book "Borrowed Excuses" in 2011. He often tries to make out the letters in the foam on the surface of the lake and the sea, but the waves twist his sentences and overflow them through the depths, so he has to wait for the twisted ones to return to his fingertips.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR OF THE ILLUSTRATIONS

Nikolina Žabčić was born in Zagreb on 21.09.1993 and is a 1st year graduate student of Animated Film at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She is the winner of four Rector's Awards; 2018/2019 for great team artistic work of Gustav Mahler's opera performance, 2020 for group work on the project entitled "150th Anniversary of the Birth of Mahatma Gandhi", 2021 for the project "ALU-SOC" and for the performance musical stage work "Suor Angelica et autres sœurs". So far, she has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including "Pay and Wear" at the Croatian Association of Artists, "Passion Heritage" at the Šira Gallery and a group exhibition of drawings and paintings as part of the Festival of World Literature at the Josip Račić Gallery. In addition to group exhibitions, she has also had three solo exhibitions in Zagreb, Split and Ljubljana. In addition to her studies, she is active in the field of illustration, where she illustrates textbooks and picture books for publishing houses and makes short animations.

The promotion of the picture book "Snovonoša" will be held as part of the side program of the Šira Gallery.
