Group exhibition of works by students of the graduate study of Textile Design at the Faculty of Textile Technology, University of Zagreb.

FROM THE PREFACE OF THE EXHIBITION

"Students of the Graduate Study of Textile Design explore textiles in different segments and areas through courses. In the course "Textile Creation", everyone approaches creative work in their own way and within the given topics through topics and problem tasks. The topics are generally broadly set so that each of the students can find the best technique for the realization of their idea in terms of ideas and realization. The topic called "Personal Textiles" is the final topic for the first and second year of graduate studies. Through presentations, they enter the field, research, make and set up a mood board, draw sketches, collections of possible interventions in different techniques and ways of approaching the personal textile story. Upon completion, the two best works are selected and made in a larger format. The creative process of searching for a theme or an appropriate technique can be challenging, exciting, and in this way works of abstract and figurative themes, free and reported compositions are created. In collaboration with Professor Martinia Ira Glogar and assistant Ivan Beretić, some works in the technique of batik and screen printing are created. A large range of different approaches to the topic, a lot of experiments and techniques in textiles open up new areas of realization in the field of Textile Art for each of the students."
