An exhibition of works by students of the Academy of Fine Arts entitled Posters for the Festival of World Literature 2017-2019, organized by the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb and the Festival of World Literature.
MORE ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Since 2017, the publishing house Fraktura and the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb have successfully conducted three competitions for the creation of posters for the Festival of World Literature, and a total of 67 undergraduate and graduate students of the Academy of Fine Arts participated with very high quality and successful works with more than 100 works. The technique for making posters is completely free (painting, drawing, photography), with a few mandatory informative elements about the Festival.
Over the years, the works have been mentored by Assoc. Prof. Prof. Art. Svjetlan Junaković and Assoc. Prof. Prof. Dr. Art. Robert Šimrak, and the decisions on the best works were made by the members of the jury: Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts Assoc. Prof. Prof. Art. Tomislav Buntak, Associate Professor Prof. Art. Svjetlan Junaković, Associate Professor Robert Šimrak, Associate Professor Prof. Art. Natalija Nikpalj, Assoc. Prof. Prof. Art. Miran Šabić, Assoc. Prof. Art. Maja Rožman, Director of the publishing house Fraktura Sibila Serdarević and Fraktura's Editor-in-Chief Seid Serdarević.
This exhibition presents the awarded works of students who participated in the competition: Robert Fenrich, Lucija Žuti, Laura Martinović, Ivica Purgar, Lorena Almaši, Nikola Grabovac, Nikolina Žabčić and two works by Ivan Stanišić, as well as a selection of works by other participants in the competition. Every year, the first-prize winning work became the official visual identity of the Festival of World Literature and appeared on all visual materials of the Festival.
The exhibition also presented a selection of works by candidates who submitted their solutions to the competition during 2018 and 2019, students of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb: Ana Mendeš, Davor Dmitrović, Neva Nevičica Horvatić, Andrej Drožđan, Dorotea Dugošija, Larisa Šmitran, Josip Rončević, Ivana Stećuk, Vjeran Palijan, Agata Lučić, Bruna Jakupović, Diana Trohar, Ena Čuček, Mihael Bađun, Ivica Purgar, and the work of a student of the Academy of Applied Arts of the University of Rijeka, Ivana Birkaš.
The exhibition in the Šira Gallery can be viewed during the working hours of the Gallery (Mon-Fri: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.) until September 9, 2019.
