The idea of cooperation between the students of graphic arts of the Academy of Fine Arts and the students of textile design of the Faculty of Textile Technology was conceived as an exchange of ideas within the framework of realized workshops in the premises of the Department of Graphics and the Faculty of Textile Technology. The task of the students was to create their personal multiplicative pattern.

The areas from which we started, graphics and textile design, are different, and yet very similar. When we start the creative process, the proposal for making sketches, conceptual solutions for personal patterns – stencils, the same problems arise and the same creative – realization paths are passed. The technique in which the conceptual solutions were realized is linocut, a graphic technique of high print. One of the specifics of the graphic medium is the reproduction or multiplication of the original. The final compositions of the matrices were created through the creative process of drawing sketches and elaborating ideas on the computer, and in order to gain a better insight into the possibilities of the matrix, the procedures of rhythmizing repetition and varying the orientation of the matrix were used, which gave results significantly richer than the original conceptual sketch. What the students had to think about was primarily the composition, the interrelationship of the artistic elements of the template and their placement within the given dimensions of the matrix. However, great attention was also paid to the process of mirror transfer of basic shapes, cutting out non-print shapes, the possibilities of repetition and rotation in printing in different ways, all in order to obtain an interesting pattern or report. The students, each in their own sensibility, created a conceptual solution with basic artistic elements from geometric - regular to irregular lines and surfaces. Within the positives and negatives, they experimented with manual printing on different types of paper and different types of textiles in order to obtain differences in prints, depending on the grammage, color and structure of the paper or the raw material composition of the textile. In this process, test and final prints were created. The exhibition consists of printed prints and textiles on which the students, depending on their affinity, additionally intervened with thread.
